How to use simulation in teaching and learning?

 This is English lesson for the grade II. I used "Power point presentation (simulation)” as a constructive tool to make teaching and learning more fun and effective. The simulation is using to use during lesson input. Children learns the name of different types of fruits and their description looking at the image of the fruits. 

Through simulation, we will be able to cater to the needs of different learning style of the individual. Sometime it is good to integrate constructive tools in teaching and learning in our lessons rather than following same teaching and learning style every day. By integrating constructive tools in teaching and learning, it will boost the energy of the children to learn better. Thus, children will be able to learn with full energy and excitement. As a result they will be able to retain in their mind for longer duration.

 Steps:

1. Open the power point presentation.
2. Go through the power point presentation.
3. Do the activity that are provided in the given sheet. 

 Learning Activity

 Activity instructions:

1. All the students take out their book after going through the presentation.
2. Draw the picture of their favorite food.
3. Write the name of your favorite book and their description
4. Use crayons to color your drawing. 
5. Paste your drawing in English corner.
6. Carry activity for 10 minutes.
7. End activity with cheers. 

 

Steps to develop power point presentation (simulation)

• Select  the topic that to be taught.(Fruits)
• Download images from internet according to your requirement.(I downloaded the images from following link)

• Open power point slid.
• Insert empty slid.
• Insert a shape or image to keep it as wallpaper.
• Insert a image of fruit and use animation, set after previous with time and duration..
• Write text by inserting text box accordingly.
• Use animation in every image and in every words that should start after previous always
• Follow the same process till the end.
• Insert soft background music across the slide to make slide more stimulating. 
• Then record the slide with your voice.
• Play the slid show.
• Save your work.

(These are some steps I followed while developing the power point presentation (simulation) on fruits) 

 Note:  You can always try alternative steps!

Power point presentation (simulation) is one of the constructive tools in ICT to integrate in teaching and learning in classroom.
